In 2009 Mott MacDonald Ireland was engaged by Endesa Ireland
Limited to provide technical services to support the planning
application for a 450MW CCGT power station at the existing power
stations at Tarbert and Great Island.
The services included the preparation of an environmental impact
statement (EIS) and planning drawings and specifically in relation
to Tarbert a flood defence strategy. We also produced a condition
survey of the existing power plant, cost estimate, design concept
and the grid application for both plants.
Both developments subsequently received full planning permission
from An Bord Pleanála.
