We acted as lender’s engineer for the wind-diesel hybrid power
station which was completed in 2010.
The plant consists of 12 x 900kW wind turbines and 5 x 3MW medium
speed diesel engines. The system is controlled by a state of the
art power management system which dispatches the engine generators
and curtails the wind farm in reaction to power demands and wind
resources. A battery bank provides an energy reserve for fast
start-up and ensures electrical quality is maintained.
Our services included for the provision of due diligence on behalf
of the lender which included a review of the designs, contracts,
capabilities of key players, existing power structure, wind
resource, ground conditions, environmental aspects, permitting and
financial modelling. During construction we monitored site progress
and provided specialist advise during commissioning of the plant.
