
Mott MacDonald crowned Engineering Consultant of the Year at
2011 Building Awards
Mott MacDonald has been named Engineering Consultant of the Year at
the 2011 Building Awards, which took place on 7 April 2011 at the
Grosvenor Hotel, London, UK.
The global management, engineering and development consultancy has
delivered sustainable achievement, stable business performance and
ongoing investment despite the difficult economic conditions in
2010.
It also continues to deliver savings and add value to major
projects around the world, such as at Hong Kong International
Airport where Mott MacDonald is providing full design consultancy
and construction support services. This project, which will include
a new midfield terminal, is helping to increase passenger capacity
at the airport by 10%.
The consultancy also delivered structural, civil and geotechnical
engineering on the Manchester Joint Hospitals project which brought
together five hospitals on a single site. Mott MacDonald’s design
maximised construction speed and safety while minimising disruption
to ongoing hospital operations.
The award judges commended Mott MacDonald’s ‘ongoing pursuit of
innovation, high standards of customer care, sustainability, staff
training and welfare, collaborative working and corporate
responsibility’.
Mike Barker, Mott MacDonald Group practice manager for buildings,

our staff has been recognised at these awards, showing us to be a
true industry leader in the buildings sector.”
Mott MacDonald won 120 awards in 2010, recognising international
achievements in innovation, health and safety, training, value
engineering and outstanding business performance. The consultancy
was also named in the top 15 of the prestigious 2011 Sunday Times
Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For Survey for the fifth
consecutive year.
